His Corner / Her Corner

November & December 2019

First, we would like to apologize for not updating our page in a while.  We could give you excuse after excuse, but it’s time out for excuses.

As the holiday season is approaching, remember to spend time with your family.  Most companies are closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas and the children are out of school, this is a great opportunity to spend quality time with your family.  Some people have a hard time during this season due to loss of a loved one or a traumatic event.  If you know someone like this, pick up the phone an call then to let them know you are thinking about them or invite the over if you like.  Time is a gift so lets not waste it.

Forgiveness is one of the most powerful weapons you can have and you need God in your life for that.  Forgiveness is a process that starts with faith.  When you have been hurt by someone, some tend to shutdown and others want to seek revenge.  Depending on the type of hurt, you can lose trust in that person, which is not easy to get back but it can be done over time.  Ask yourself this question, is it easier to be angry or to forgive.  Some of you will choose angry so look at it this way, when you are angry with someone, you are not the one in control, they are.  Just think about it, after all that we have done to Jesus, where would we be if He were angry.  Look at the things that happened prior to the Cross, yet on the Cross He said in Luke 23:34, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”  Jesus suffered for you, 2 Corinthians 5;21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”  We will talk about the “IN HIM” in 2020.

Forgiveness is a decision and a process.  Once you choose to forgive, that is by faith because your decision is now a process of healing.  The process starts with prayer, be honest with God, let Him know you are hurt and you need His help.  Let Him know that you don’t want to hold unforgiveness against anyone.  Then you start praying a positive prayer, for the one who hurt you.  You might say, that’s crazy, but look at Luke 23:34 again.
